30% A*-As Awarded
98% A*-Es Awarded
Academy sponsor, United Learning Trust (ULT), has exceeded the provisional national average for A*-A grades and overall pass rates in today’s results.
ULT’s 17 Academies have replaced some of the poorest performing schools in the country and have introduced Sixth Forms where they had never existed before.
Welcoming the results, Kathy August, Acting Chief Executive of ULT said:
“ULT has set out to raise the standards of education in the communities we serve. This not only applies to raising the minimum standards at GCSE level but also to introducing Sixth Forms that give our students the academic push that equips them with the appropriate skills and qualifications for university.
“Exceeding the provisional national average for A*-A grades is fantastic news for all our students and staff. It proves that our ULT Academies have come of age in giving our most able students the opportunities they so richly deserve.
“Across the country, our students are celebrating gaining places at the best universities in the country including Cambridge, LSE, Kings College London, Edinburgh, Warwick and Manchester. For many of them, they will be the first in their family to go to university”.
